3 ways to treat your body like a temple by decreasing your toxic load
Sweat it out
Add air-purifying plants to your home
Limit plastic and switch to glass or stainless steel
Do you feel overwhelmed at the thought of “non-toxic”?
If you’re like me you might think that sounds like having to cook every single meal, learn how to can food, and spending thousands of dollars in replacing kitchen appliances that have non-stick coating 😫
I’m here to simplify for us, and remind us that we don’t have to be all or nothing!
We can be ok with birthday cake at parties, simple meals, and slowly replacing things when they break or when we are ready to.
As moms, taking small steps to decrease our exposure to toxins helps create a healthier, more peaceful home—and it’s easier than you might think! Here are three effective ways to detox your environment and your body:
Sweat it Out with Regular ExerciseExercise does more than boost energy—it’s a natural way to help the body eliminate toxins! Studies show that sweating through activities like brisk walking, yoga, or even a quick dance session can help flush out toxins like heavy metals. Plus, regular movement supports the body’s natural detox systems (like the liver and kidneys) by improving blood flow and encouraging deep breathing, which can clear out pollutants.
Add Air-Purifying Plants to Your HomeDid you know that certain houseplants can naturally clean indoor air? Plants like the spider plant, peace lily, and Boston fern are known to remove toxins like formaldehyde, benzene, and carbon monoxide. Place these plants in high-traffic areas like the kitchen or living room to help filter pollutants, while also adding a calming, natural touch to your home.
Limit Plastics and Switch to Glass or Stainless SteelMany plastics release chemicals like BPA and phthalates, which are known hormone disruptors. Try swapping plastic water bottles, food containers, and even children’s dishes for glass or stainless steel alternatives. Not only is this safer, but it also reduces exposure to microplastics that can enter our bodies through food and drink.
“Our bodies are temples, and each step toward a less toxic environment is a way to honor that gift. What’s one change you’re making to reduce toxins in your home?”
