Be Perfect as Your Heavenly Father is Perfect.

Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

Phew that’s a BIG ask!

An intimidating ask!

I don’t think I ever fully comprehended how to do it until recently.

I started reading “Cultivating Virtue, Self Master with the Saints” and this month's virtue is perfection.

The message of day 8 was:

Perfection is doing what God is calling you to do, solely for the honor and love of God.

If God is calling you to be a wife and a mother, do that, the best that you can, for God.

That is not to say that we have to do it perfectly, without mistakes, or failures.

“Perfection consisted not in great deeds, but in fulfilling our duties.” ~Abbot Paphnutius

This gave me hope, it took some of the pressure off, AND it was motivation for me.

I know when I’m being lazy, don’t we all?

When I feel myself start giving into that laziness, I think, “Am I doing what God is calling me to do in this very moment?”

Am I being called to veg out on the couch, or is there something that I can do to better fulfill my role as a wife, a mother, and a coach that would give more honor and glory to God?

You want motivation?

There ya go! Ask yourself that same question.

Save this for the next time you are feeling lazy and dragging your feet on doing the dishes, or taking action on a BIG goal reread this!
